Biography

      Born in Bucharest, the vibrant capital of Romania, Anca grew up immersed in music. With both parents being professional musicians, her early environment was rich with musical influences. From a young age , she began creating spontaneous melodies as part of her communication with her parents. Recognizing her natural talent for improvisation, they enrolled her in music lessons when she was just 4 years old. 

      Anca learned the basics of music at home and started formal music education at 7, initially studying piano. Three years later, inspired by her father, a violinist with the “George Enescu” Philharmonic Orchestra of Bucharest, she began learning the violin.

      After 17 years of dedicated study, Anca graduated from the Bucharest Music Academy as a violinist and continued with a Master in Chamber Music. She successfully auditioned for the “George Enescu” Philharmonic Orchestra but soon sought to explore the rich musical and cultural heritage of Brasil. She joined the Orchestra do Estado do Sao Paulo as a violinist.

      In Brasil, Anca discovered the viola, whose expressive and nostalgic timbre resonated deeply with her. She took lessons from the esteemed Romanian Professor Valeriu Pitulac, which led to a successful audition for Odense Symfoniorchestra in Denmark.

      Anca’s musical journey continued with her appointment as Co-Principal Viola in the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. Her constant curiosity for diverse cultures and music genres enriched her repertoire.

      In 2017, Anca met the tenor Giorgio Martin, whose voice and expressiveness captivated her. Their professional collaboration soon blossomed into a romantic relationship, and they began performing together across Germany, Romania, Spain, Denmark and Turkey.

      It was Giorgio who introduced Anca to the THEREMIN after seeing it on TV. Instantly captivated by its unique sound, Anca envisioned herself mastering the instrument. She purchased her first theremin, a Moog Etherwave Plus, in Köln the following day.

      Since then, Anca has devoted herself to the theremin, earning enthusiastic acclaim in Europe and the Middle East. She has fulfilled her vision of performing with the theremin on stage and is now recognized as the first Romanian professional thereminist to play with an orchestra.
